After a terrible seawatch and little evidence of any new arrivals on Seaford Head (a
Black Redstart at Splash Point the only noteworthy arrival), I again checked the floodwater stretching from Exceat to Litlington. I got stopped at the first flood by a drake
Garganey that I presumed was yesterday's bird that was further up the valley. Then a female joined, followed by another pair, and when all the ducks got flushed, a total of six
Garganey were present.
After this minor success, a 3-hour walk around Lewes Brooks produced just a single
Common Sandpiper and a fox chasing a hare.
