Finally managed to catch up with the Marmora's Warbler in Gwent, Wales today. Although we had to wait a while for it to appear it eventually showed well, often in full song on a Bracken. Supporting cast were Whinchats, Tree Pipits and a bunch of muppets frantically looking for Cuckoos!!! I think i would rather see the Marmora's.
On our return journey we stopped into Chew Valley Lake and after scanning the edges of a small lake for 45 minutes some dude found the Ferruginous Duck sleeping in the centre of the lake, which had probably been there all the time we were present, now who are the muppets!!! Also my first Kingfisher for a few months zoomed past which was lovely to see.
All in all a great days birding with brilliant company along the way, and 2 Lifers.
