Etosha NP Day 3
I started off with a two hour walk along the track at the entrance to Mondjila. A fairy productive walk and a huge relief to find a trio of Bare-cheeked Babblers. It’s always good to come across something unexpectedly, and even more so meaning I don’t have to devote any more time to Halali Camp, as from today I have two nights at Okaukuejo Camp, staying in a Waterhole Chalet overlooking the floodlit waterhole where tonight a Black Rhino and several hundred Double-Banded Sandgrouse came in just before dark. I spent the morning generally relaxing and then entering the park late morning and doing most of the route that I did yesterday.
A very good day for mammals with three Elephants showing off really close, with a female Lioness also trying to get in with some of the action. After dark a few Rufous-cheeked Nightjars were around the waterhole and annoyingly an unidentified Owl flew through being chased off by a Black-headed Heron.
