Once again, the cold north-easterlies have arrived and brought with it very few migrants. I started the day down Splash Point for a two hour seawatch where the obvious highlight was a close-in Great Skua.
06.10-08.10 NE 3-4:

Razorbill - 1
Red-throated Diver - 6

Afterwards a tour of Seaford Head, Lower Cuckmere and the Upper Cuckmere produced very little bar a few newly arrived Chiffchaffs and two Firecrests. At Charleston Reedbed I half-heartedly scanned the distant ducks and failed to see the pair of Garganey that Andrew found maybe two hours later. I returned again in the afternoon and soon found the pair, although the flock took flight and a lengthy search after failed to find them again.
